Head of Ground Operations – Commodity Trading

About the role

The Head of Ground Operations will lead day‑to‑day logistics and operational activities for a commodity trading business operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role ensures that export timelines, deliveries and sourcing commitments are met while coordinating across multiple geographic locations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily ground operations to achieve priorities, deliveries and export schedules.
• Track commitments, deadlines and responsibilities across teams and sourcing locations.
• Identify and resolve logistics, documentation, supplier, customer and operational bottlenecks.
• Manage communication between Dubai, African outposts, suppliers, logistics partners and government authorities.
• Improve operating processes and support the rollout of the operating model in new African markets.

Required profile

• 3–10 years of experience in operations, logistics, supply chain, business operations or similar roles.
• Background in commodity trading, mining & metals, logistics, industrial or international trading, preferably in Central Africa.
• Strong operational discipline, accountability, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Comfortable working in rural or remote African environments and travelling frequently.
• Fluency in Hindi is highly desirable; digital communication and people‑management experience are advantageous.
