Health Project Manager – Emergency Response

About the role

The Health Project Manager will lead emergency health interventions for populations affected by conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Based in Bunia, the role focuses on rapid assessments, short‑term responses and strengthening primary health care services in challenging security environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate health projects in line with objectives, timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate rapid assessments and emergency responses together with the WASH team.
• Oversee primary health care staff to ensure delivery meets international quality standards.
• Facilitate beneficiary participation and liaise with local authorities, NGOs and UN partners.
• Prepare project proposals, reports and contribute to health strategy development.
• Supervise the supply of PHC pharmaceuticals, referral systems and minor health‑facility rehabilitation.
• Provide training, coaching and supervision to Ministry of Health staff and promote behaviour‑change communication.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing health projects in humanitarian or emergency settings.
• Strong knowledge of primary health care delivery and health system strengthening.
• Ability to work in insecure, remote environments and adapt to rapidly changing contexts.
• Excellent coordination and reporting skills.
