Nutrition Officer (Community & IYCF)

About the role

The Nutrition Officer will provide technical, operational and administrative support for UNICEF's nutrition programmes in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Working within the Country Programme, the incumbent will contribute to the design, implementation and monitoring of community‑based nutrition and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of nutrition strategies, work plans and budgets.
• Assist in the implementation of community nutrition and IYCF activities, ensuring alignment with UNICEF standards.
• Monitor programme progress, collect data and contribute to regular reporting and evaluation.
• Coordinate with government ministries, NGOs and other partners to strengthen nutrition service delivery.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing, innovation and capacity‑building initiatives for staff and partners.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in nutrition, public health, or a related field.
• Experience in community nutrition programmes and IYCF interventions.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural, humanitarian environment.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
