Operations Manager – Emergency Response (6 months)

About the role

The Operations Manager will provide strategic leadership and coordination of all operational functions for UNICEF’s Ebola response in Bunia, DRC. This six‑month temporary appointment ensures that supply chain, finance, administration, risk management and ICT systems are agile and responsive to emergency needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic operations, ensuring alignment with the emergency response plan and simplified procedures.
• Oversee administration and field operations, guaranteeing smooth logistics and staff wellbeing.
• Manage financial resources, budgeting, and reporting for the response.
• Direct supply chain and logistics activities, from procurement to delivery of essential goods.
• Implement internal controls, risk assessments, and emergency risk management measures.

Required profile

• Senior professional (P‑4 level) with proven experience in humanitarian emergency operations.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain, finance, risk management and ICT in complex, insecure environments.
• Ability to coordinate multi‑sectoral teams and engage with government and community stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and decision‑making skills under pressure.
