Operations Manager – Emergency Response (6‑month contract)

About the role

The Operations Manager will provide strategic leadership and coordination of all operational functions for UNICEF’s Ebola response in Bunia, DRC. This temporary six‑month appointment ensures that supply chain, finance, administration, risk management and ICT systems are agile, risk‑informed and responsive to emergency needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic operations, ensuring alignment with the emergency response plan.
• Oversee administration and field operations, including personnel wellbeing and logistics.
• Manage financial processes, budgeting and resource optimization.
• Direct supply chain and logistics activities to guarantee timely delivery of essential supplies.
• Implement internal controls and monitor emergency‑related risks.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in humanitarian or emergency operations.
• Proven ability to coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams in complex, insecure environments.
• Strong understanding of risk management, governance and resource optimization.
