Project Coordinator – School Infrastructure & WASH (PAAF)

About the role

The Project Coordinator will lead day‑to‑day coordination, monitoring and reporting of school construction and WASH infrastructure activities under the PAAF programme. Based in Kinshasa with regular field missions, the role ensures that works are delivered on time, within approved designs and specifications, and in compliance with UNICEF standards and environmental and social safeguards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise construction and WASH activities across multiple school sites.
• Monitor progress, quality, and budget adherence, producing regular reports for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications, contractual requirements, and UNICEF policies.
• Liaise with government authorities, contractors, and local partners to resolve issues and facilitate smooth implementation.
• Manage documentation, permits, and safeguard assessments for all project components.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Hydraulics, Sanitary Engineering or a related field.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent formal training is a strong asset.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience managing, coordinating or supervising large‑scale construction or WASH projects.
