Infrastructure Coordinator – Construction Projects

About the role

The Infrastructure Coordinator works under the Chief of Mission to supervise all construction activities of the IOM mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role involves close collaboration with construction firms, project managers and logistics units to ensure infrastructure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to IOM quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all construction works, ensuring quality control and compliance with IOM regulations.
• Manage tender processes, including preparation of technical documents, bid openings and contractor selection.
• Coordinate supply‑chain planning with the logistics unit to avoid resource gaps.
• Oversee project scheduling, budgeting and progress reporting, conducting regular field visits.
• Lead a team of national engineers and works supervisors, providing technical guidance and contract administration.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Building Construction, Civil, Hydraulic or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent with 7 years experience).
• Minimum five years of professional experience in planning, implementing and supervising construction, water‑sanitation or wastewater projects, preferably in humanitarian or security‑challenged environments.
• Fluency in English and French (oral and written); additional UN language is an advantage.
