Retail Area Manager – Kinshasa

About the role

Are you ready to take the next step in your career as a Retail Area Manager with one of Africa's leading groups? You will be responsible for the smooth operation, profitability, and achievement of sales targets for a group of stores. In this role you will lead Store Managers, ensure customer service standards, oversee inventory control, and implement corporate strategy while reporting directly to top management.

Key responsibilities

• Set and monitor sales targets (KPIs) for each store, analyse results and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, cleanliness standards and product visual merchandising.
• Recruit, train, mentor and evaluate Store Managers.
• Oversee ordering, stock management and shrinkage reduction.
• Guarantee high‑quality service and a consistent customer experience across all stores in the area.
• Monitor the local market and competition and adapt commercial strategies accordingly.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Area/District Manager or Store Manager in a supermarket or organized retail environment.
• Ability to manage, motivate and develop teams.
• Excellent knowledge of retail operations and understanding of financial indicators (P&L).
• Excellent command of English; French optional.
• Strong communication skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Willingness to travel frequently between store locations.
