Senior Migration Health Programme Coordinator

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Migration Health Programme Coordinator to lead and expand health initiatives for migrants and vulnerable populations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This expedited position will support IOM’s Health Border and Mobility Management framework, ensuring equitable access to preventive and curative health services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and monitor comprehensive health programmes for migrants, mobile populations, and hard‑to‑reach groups.
• Coordinate pre‑migration health assessments, emergency life‑saving assistance, and health‑system strengthening activities.
• Strengthen health service capacity at border points, including disease surveillance, detection, and response.
• Provide integrated training on surveillance and disease control for frontline health staff.
• Collaborate with government authorities, WASH and Protection clusters, and other partners to align interventions with national health strategies.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in migration health or public health programmes.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑stakeholder projects in humanitarian or conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong understanding of health systems, disease surveillance, and border health operations.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, with fluency in English.
