Social Policy Specialist – Fixed Term – Kinshasa, DRC

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Social Policy Specialist to provide technical support for the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of social policy programmes in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Working under the guidance of a supervisor, you will contribute to UNICEF’s mission of promoting children’s rights and equity.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of social policy initiatives aimed at reducing child poverty.
• Assist in expanding social protection coverage and assessing its impact on children.
• Analyze the transparency, adequacy, equity and efficiency of child‑focused public investments and financial management.
• Promote governance, decentralisation and accountability measures to improve public participation and the quality of social services.
• Collaborate directly with government agencies and civil‑society partners to advance programme objectives.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background (e.g., social policy, economics, public administration) and experience in social‑policy programming and advocacy.
• Ability to work under supervision and deliver concrete, sustainable results.
