Superintendent - Geotechnical Design & Data Collection

About the role

The Geotechnical Superintendent – Design & Data Collection reports to the Geotechnical and Hydrogeology Manager and is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of geotechnical engineering studies and design activities that support KCC's open‑pit mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee geotechnical design, field data collection, monitoring, analysis, interpretation and technical reporting.
• Identify, plan and coordinate geotechnical studies for operational needs and the Life‑of‑Mine plan.
• Integrate geotechnical considerations into mine planning, slope design, depressurisation strategies and risk management.
• Promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture and ensure compliance with SOPs and safe systems of work.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, costs and contractor performance while seeking cost‑saving opportunities.
• Ensure all activities comply with the Company’s Code of Conduct and anti‑corruption policies.
• Train, develop and mentor geotechnical personnel and communicate effectively with mine management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in geotechnical engineering within a mining environment.
• Demonstrated leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental and risk‑management standards.
• Ability to manage budgets, contracts and stakeholder expectations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
