HSE Supervisor – Project near Kolwezi, DRC

About the role

DRA Global is seeking an experienced HSE Supervisor to support a mining‑construction project near Kolwezi in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role requires close collaboration with construction teams, contractors and project management to ensure safe execution of all activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of the project HSE Management System.
• Monitor compliance with procedures, risk assessments and safe‑work requirements.
• Conduct workplace inspections, observations and critical‑control verifications.
• Coach frontline supervision in effective HSE management.
• Identify unsafe conditions and behaviours and ensure corrective actions.
• Participate in incident investigations and follow‑up on corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor HSE performance and escalate significant concerns.
• Support HSE reporting, statistics and project assurance activities.
• Promote visible leadership, employee engagement and a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• DRC citizenship is mandatory.
• Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience, preferably in mining, construction, engineering or EPCM projects.
• Experience working on construction or mining projects in the DRC is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of DRC occupational health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Fluency in English and French, with ability to communicate in Swahili.
• Willingness to work on‑site near Kolwezi and adhere to the project rotation schedule.
