Temple Security Supervisor

About the role

The Temple Security Supervisor ensures that temple ordinances are protected, accurately recorded, and accessible to authorized members. This role creates a welcoming environment for patrons while maintaining the highest standards of safety and security for the temple and its grounds.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, orient, and train security personnel.
• Directly supervise all security staff, schedule coverage, and assign duties.
• Recommend and implement procedures to reduce theft, vandalism, intrusion, and liability, including managing electronic alarm and surveillance systems.
• Assist with building and grounds safety inspections.
• Provide emergency coverage, ensure first‑aid readiness, and respond to threats.
• Conduct special investigations and maintain incident logs.
• Oversee payroll timesheets for security staff.
• Perform performance evaluations and advise on personnel actions.
• Maintain liaison with local law enforcement and fire officials, establishing clear emergency communication protocols.

Required profile

• Four‑year degree in law enforcement or related field **or** five years of law‑enforcement experience **or** equivalent combination of security and law‑enforcement experience.
• At least two years of supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership.
• First‑aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Required skills

• First aid and CPR certification.
• Experience with electronic alarm systems and surveillance equipment, including installation, calibration, maintenance, and monitoring.
• Computer proficiency.
