Administrative & Finance Specialist – Emergency Operations (6‑month contract)

About the role

The Administrative & Finance Specialist will support UNICEF’s emergency Ebola response in Bunia, ensuring that financial and administrative processes run smoothly and comply with UNICEF rules. The role is critical for maintaining timely service delivery and effective field implementation during the six‑month assignment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage strategic administrative and financial operations for the emergency response.
• Apply Simplified Emergency Procedures and ensure compliance with UNICEF financial policies.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, financial reports, and cash flow statements.
• Coordinate with the Operations Manager and field teams to facilitate procurement, payments, and resource allocation.
• Maintain accurate records and support audit activities.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting, preferably in humanitarian or emergency settings.
• Strong knowledge of UNICEF financial rules and emergency procedures.
• Ability to work in a complex, insecure environment and adapt to changing priorities.
