Business Development, Partnerships & Communication Manager

About the role

The Business Development, Partnerships & Communication Manager (BDP&CM) is a senior position within the SC‑DRC team. Reporting to the Central Africa and Great Lakes Regional Representative, the role supports the humanitarian response and strategic plan by shaping funding strategies, engaging donors and coordinating high‑value proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, research and disseminate new funding opportunities from bilateral, multilateral, private‑sector and foundation donors.
• Develop and regularly update funding strategies for the Country Strategic Plan and Humanitarian Response Plan.
• Monitor progress toward funding targets and report pipeline status to senior management.
• Collaborate with technical coordinators to create generic concept notes that align programme ambitions with donor priorities.
• Lead the development of high‑value or complex proposals, serving as lead writer or pen holder.
• Maintain up‑to‑date donor contacts, formats and strategies at the country office level.
• Explore private‑sector partnerships with Street Child offices in Europe and the US.
• Lead consortium arrangements, ensuring proper documentation and filing.
• Proactively gather local donor intelligence and seek new partnership opportunities.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional within a humanitarian or development organisation.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage complex processes involving multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in donor trend analysis, fundraising strategy and proposal development.
• Strong collaborative skills to work with programme, regional and HQ teams.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time across the country.
