Chargé(e) du soutien psychosocial (SC8)

About the role

The Psychosocial Support Officer (SC8) will provide essential psychosocial assistance to vulnerable populations in Beni, Democratic Republic of Congo. Working within the Well‑being & Culture division, the officer will contribute to WFP’s mission of delivering humanitarian aid while promoting mental health and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group psychosocial support to beneficiaries affected by conflict, displacement or disaster.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments, develop care plans and refer cases to specialised services when needed.
• Coordinate with WFP field teams, partners and local authorities to ensure integrated support.
• Monitor and document the impact of psychosocial interventions and produce regular reports.
• Participate in community outreach and awareness‑raising activities on mental health and well‑being.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in psychology, social work, counselling or a related field.
• Experience working in humanitarian or emergency settings, preferably in the Great Lakes region.
• Fluency in French and ability to communicate in local languages is an asset.
• Ability to work in insecure environments and adapt to rapidly changing conditions.
