Chief Accountant (Chef Comptable)

About the role

Auremin, an independent energy and infrastructure platform operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is looking for a meticulous Chief Accountant to own day‑to‑day bookkeeping and the monthly compliance cycle for its DRC entities. The role ensures that statutory books under SYSCOHADA/AUDCIF are clean, current and audit‑ready, supporting the group’s IFRS consolidation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and supporting documentation for DRC entities under SYSCOHADA/AUDCIF.
• Process and reconcile all transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
• Prepare and submit monthly statutory declarations and filings on schedule.
• Produce monthly management accounts and reconciliations for internal review.
• Bridge statutory accounts to the group’s IFRS consolidation, ensuring clean entity‑level reconciliation.
• Coordinate with the retained expert‑comptable cabinet and commissaire aux comptes for statutory accounts and audits.
• Work with the Fiscalist & Treasury Lead to align bookkeeping with tax and treasury positions.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of full‑cycle bookkeeping or accounting experience in the DRC.
• Strong knowledge of SYSCOHADA/AUDCIF statutory accounting and ability to reconcile to IFRS.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field; professional accounting qualification preferred.
• Fluent in French (essential); working English is an advantage.
