Cold Chain Logistics Specialist – Vaccine Management (Consultant)

About the role

The Cold Chain Logistics Specialist will support UNICEF’s immunization programmes in the Democratic Republic of Congo by ensuring effective vaccine management and cold chain operations across provinces. Reporting to the Immunization Supply Chain Manager, the consultant will travel to health regions and districts to oversee routine immunisation, supplemental campaigns and outbreak responses.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement vaccine stock management, forecasting and timely distribution.
• Monitor cold chain equipment functionality, preventive maintenance and temperature excursions.
• Ensure accurate data collection, reporting and inventory reconciliation.
• Lead capacity‑building activities for provincial EPI teams, including training and supportive supervision.
• Track performance indicators such as stock‑out days, wastage rates, delivery accuracy and equipment repair times.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least five years of experience in health logistics or vaccine supply chains.
• Demonstrated experience in cold chain management, forecasting and data reporting.
• Ability to work onsite in Kinshasa and travel to remote districts.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
