Communication Specialist (P-3) – 6‑month contract in Bunia

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Communication Specialist (P‑3) to support the Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Working under the Ebola Response Coordinator and reporting to the Chief of Communication, you will create high‑quality multimedia content that raises visibility, advocates for children, and drives fundraising.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, produce and disseminate photo, video and storytelling materials aligned with UNICEF standards.
• Collaborate with programme sections, field teams and partners to ensure timely communication outputs.
• Support advocacy and fundraising campaigns related to the Ebola response.
• Maintain a content calendar and ensure consistency across all channels.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or a related field.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in communication, including print, broadcast and new media.
• Demonstrated ability to work in complex, insecure environments and adapt to rapidly changing contexts.
