Communication Specialist (P-3) – 6‑Month Temporary Role in Bunia

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Communication Specialist (P‑3) for a six‑month temporary appointment in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo. The role supports the Ebola response by creating high‑quality multimedia content that raises visibility, advocacy, and fundraising for vulnerable children and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, produce, and disseminate multimedia materials (photos, videos, graphics, social media posts) aligned with UNICEF standards.
• Collaborate with programme sections, field teams, and partners to ensure timely and accurate communication outputs.
• Support advocacy and fundraising campaigns related to the Ebola response.
• Coordinate communication activities across sectors and provide technical guidance to field staff.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, External Relations, or a related field.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in communication, including print, broadcast, and new media.
• Demonstrated experience working in humanitarian or health‑crisis contexts is preferred.
