Construction Project Manager

About the role

Incumbent has primary accountability for the development and construction of assigned construction projects, including new meetinghouses, CES seminaries, small institutes, welfare projects, and large R&I projects. The role is expected to meet performance standards related to cost, quality, and timeliness.

Key responsibilities

• Project manage work of service providers such as architects, consultants, and contractors to achieve performance standards and seek continuous improvement.
• Analyze project information to continuously seek ways to meet performance standards.
• Support and contribute to related functions such as Operations and Maintenance by providing expertise.
• Ensure timely and cost‑effective acquisition of real‑estate properties to anticipate impact on construction costs and schedules.
• Provide project management support to stake presidents to solve problems within established policy.
• Contribute to the professional improvement of peers by sharing expertise.
• Develop professional skills and receive training to improve competence.

Required profile

• BS or SA degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture (or local equivalent) with 3‑5 years related construction experience, or a minimum of 3 years strong building construction background.
• Proven leadership, business, management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to communicate sensitively with ecclesiastical leaders and effectively with real‑estate representatives, architects, engineers, contractors, city officials, governmental agencies, neighborhood associations, and zoning boards.
• Basic estimating, scheduling, and analysis skills.
• Good public‑relations skills and demonstrated ability to manage people and multiple projects.
• Competence in computer support services for project cost control and scheduling.
• Professional certification in a related field is preferred.
