Coordinator, Rapid Response Team

About the role

The Rapid Response Team (RRT) Coordinator is a senior field‑level leader responsible for directing and coordinating all RRT activities during highly infectious disease outbreaks. Reporting to the Response Lead, the role serves as the single point of contact between the RRT, the Response Lead, and local authorities and requires frequent short‑term deployments in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate all Rapid Response Team activities during outbreak responses.
• Act as the primary liaison between the RRT, the Response Lead, and local authorities.
• Lead a multidisciplinary, self‑sufficient team for short‑duration deployments (approximately three weeks).
• Conduct rapid new‑site responses, including investigation, assessment, and initiation of a minimum intervention package.
• Provide quality support to existing International Medical Corps interventions through supervision, mentoring, and joint problem‑solving.

Required profile

• Senior field‑level leadership experience, preferably in humanitarian or health emergency contexts.
• Proven ability to make delegated field decisions and manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with infectious disease outbreak response and rapid deployment operations.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with local authorities and partner organizations.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work in challenging field conditions.
