Data and Analytics Manager (Health/ISMT) – Temporary (6 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Data and Analytics Manager to lead the Data, Digital Health Information Systems, and Modeling pillar of the Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This six‑month temporary appointment will be based in Bunia and will support the national government and UNICEF country office in delivering real‑time, high‑quality health data for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational leadership for Ebola data management, digital surveillance, and epidemiological modeling.
• Strengthen national systems for data governance, integration, and harmonisation of digital health information platforms.
• Ensure data quality, strategic use of information, and production of regular epidemiological analyses.
• Develop and maintain decision‑making dashboards for the Country Office, UN partners, and the Ministry of Health.
• Build national capacity in data and digital health systems through training and mentorship.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, data science, health informatics or a related field.
• Proven experience in health data management, digital health information systems, and epidemiological modelling, preferably in emergency or outbreak settings.
• Strong understanding of surveillance systems and data governance frameworks.

Required skills

• Data management and quality assurance.
• Digital health information systems (e.g., DHIS2, electronic surveillance platforms).
• Epidemiological modelling and statistical analysis.
• Data visualization and dashboard development.
• Ability to work in complex, insecure environments and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
