Deputy Chief of Party – Integrated WASH & Nutrition

About the role

Food for the Hungry is seeking a qualified Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) to lead Integrated Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH) and Nutrition activities within a five‑year USAID‑funded Resilience Food Security Activity in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The DCOP will work closely with the Chief of Party to ensure high‑impact, evidence‑based interventions that improve food and nutrition security for vulnerable households.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for WASH and Nutrition components, ensuring alignment with the approved work plan and USAID reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with the Chief of Party and Agriculture Production & Livelihoods DCOP to develop annual work plans, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Facilitate stakeholder consultations, coordinate with government counterparts, and support local engagement throughout project implementation.
• Lead preparation and timely submission of deliverables, progress reports, and financial reports to USAID.
• Monitor project performance, supervise M&E activities, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience leading WASH, Nutrition, and social‑behavior‑change programs in low‑resource settings.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑sectoral development projects and supervise technical teams.
• Strong understanding of USAID regulations, reporting standards, and results‑based management.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with donors, government agencies, and community partners.
