Driver – Logistics & Transport for World Bank Office

About the role

The World Bank office in N'Djamena, Chad is seeking a professional driver to provide reliable transportation for staff and support daily logistics operations. The role involves operating office vehicles, including an armored vehicle, and ensuring safe, punctual travel within the city and surrounding regions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive staff to meetings and business sites within N'Djamena and surrounding areas, including operating the armored vehicle.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, service schedule, insurance, registration and logbook.
• Refuel the vehicle following World Bank fueling procedures and perform daily inspections (tire pressure, oil, coolant, etc.).
• Carry out basic vehicle maintenance and minor repairs, ensuring all safety equipment (seat belts, fire extinguisher, first‑aid kit, spare tire, tools) is present and functional.
• Handle mail delivery and collection for the office.
• Follow World Bank Road Safety Policy and respond to any accidents or emergencies.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle class.
• Ability to drive safely in urban and regional conditions, including an armored vehicle.
• Good knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Reliability, punctuality and professional conduct.
