Ebola Program Portfolio Director - Bunia, DRC

About the role

Prosper Global is responding to the 17th Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo through an integrated emergency portfolio covering community engagement, WASH, health, protection, livelihoods and cash. The Ebola Program Portfolio Director reports to the DRC Country Director and works closely with the Director of Programs, senior management, regional and global technical teams and business development colleagues. The role provides strategic direction and portfolio-level oversight of the Ebola response in the DRC and coordinates prevention and preparedness efforts in Uganda and South Sudan.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and regular review of the overall Ebola response and preparedness strategy, aligned with national strategy, government priorities, donor requirements and organizational strategy
• Set portfolio priorities and establish a framework for rapid geographic adaptation, expanding into emerging hotspots and reallocating resources as needs change
• Coordinate regionally with Prosper Global teams in South Sudan and Uganda
• Ensure programming is timely, high quality, evidence-driven, conflict-sensitive and responsive to epidemiological, humanitarian, security and operational conditions
• Strengthen coordination, representation and external positioning, and cultivate strategic partnerships and donor relationships
• Drive resource mobilization to enable timely scale-up, adaptation or transition of the response
• Monitor performance using data, evidence and community feedback, and promote adaptive management and learning
• Integrate community engagement, Do No Harm, conflict sensitivity, protection, safeguarding, gender sensitivity and inclusion into program design
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning systems and ensure findings lead to management action
• Provide strategic advice to the Country Director and Senior Management on risks, opportunities and scale-up or transition scenarios
