Ebola Response Roster – Multiple Assignments

About the role

The United Nations Volunteers programme is establishing a roster of qualified professionals to support Ebola preparedness and response efforts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Candidates may be deployed at short notice to assist emergency operations during Ebola outbreaks, working directly with government, partners and affected communities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) strategies, including community assessments, messaging, rumor tracking and capacity building.
• Deliver Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services, conduct needs assessments, strengthen partner capacity and ensure quality monitoring.
• Implement and monitor WASH and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) interventions in communities and health facilities, providing training and cross‑sector coordination.
• Establish and strengthen Community‑Based Surveillance (CBS) systems for early detection and reporting of Ebola cases.
• Integrate gender equality and inclusion across response activities, conduct rapid gender analyses and support GBV prevention.
• Provide technical leadership on Ebola prevention, case management, surveillance, contact tracing, safe burials and health‑worker training.

Required profile

• International candidates or nationals of the DRC.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the listed technical areas.
• Experience in emergency health response or humanitarian settings.
• Ability to work under short‑notice deployment and in challenging field environments.
