Emergency Communications Specialist (SHR)

About the role

The Emergency Communications Specialist (SHR) will shape and execute World Vision DRC’s emergency communications strategy. You will ensure high‑quality content supports advocacy, marketing and fundraising while strengthening technical capacity across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead an emergency communications strategy aligned with the global "Our Promise" framework.
• Produce timely, high‑quality internal and external content for advocacy, marketing and fundraising.
• Establish systems and procedures that guarantee quality assurance of all communications during emergencies.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to field, TP and grants staff.
• Deploy in surge capacity for emergency responses and assist in placing permanent communications staff for large‑scale operations.

Required profile

• BA in Journalism, Communications or Public Relations (preferred).
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and French.
• Excellent writing, photography and interpersonal skills.
• High level of confidence, confidentiality and ability to work with diverse cultures.
• Office‑based role with frequent travel (≈70% within DRC).

• Microsoft Office suite.
• Adobe Creative Suite – Lightroom, Premiere Pro, InDesign.
• Photography.
