Emergency Program Manager II – Short Term (June‑Sept 2026)

About the role

You will lead the design, implementation and close‑out of emergency response and recovery projects for the Country Program in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This short‑term position (June‑September 2026) ensures high‑quality programming that aligns with Catholic Relief Services’ standards and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide management, guidance and technical oversight for all emergency projects throughout the project cycle.
• Supervise and develop staff, ensuring well‑being, performance management and tailored development plans.
• Lead program learning, research and knowledge‑management activities, disseminating best practices.
• Identify and pursue new funding opportunities; serve as technical lead and writer for proposals.
• Oversee technical assistance, capacity‑strengthening for staff and partners.
• Manage partnerships, ensuring appropriate application of partnership tools.
• Ensure timely, compliant project expenditures and stewardship of resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Development, International Relations or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years of field‑based project management experience, with at least 3 years in emergency response and recovery.
• Experience managing moderately complex projects.
