Emergency Response MHPSS Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Response MHPSS Project Manager to lead the integration of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) into the Ebola outbreak response in Ituri province, DRC. The role will ensure that psychosocial services are embedded across surveillance, case management, risk communication and community interventions, supporting patients, families and frontline staff.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and oversee MHPSS activities across all response pillars, ensuring compliance with international, national and Medair standards.
• Train and mentor staff and local partners in Psychological First Aid and other MHPSS approaches.
• Establish peer‑support systems within Ebola Treatment Centers and among healthcare workers.
• Develop tools and training materials for MHPSS integration and update them as the response evolves.
• Monitor quality and impact, produce timely reports, contribute to proposals and support budget management.

Required profile

• Degree in psychology, mental health, social work or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience managing international MHPSS programmes, with at least 1 year in humanitarian emergencies.
• Experience in outbreak or Ebola response is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of humanitarian principles, Sphere, IASC Standards and related guidelines.
• Fluent in French (spoken and written).
