Emergency Specialist (Access), P-3, TA (6 months)

About the role

Under the direction of the Chief of Emergency, the Emergency Specialist (Access) will coordinate country‑wide data collection, reporting and response activities related to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role involves designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating emergency interventions to ensure timely, evidence‑based decision‑making and effective coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Humanitarian access and negotiation with authorities and communities.
• Community engagement and acceptance to promote health‑seeking behaviours.
• Access monitoring and information management, including data collection and reporting.
• Coordination and operational support for multi‑sectoral response efforts.
• Capacity strengthening and knowledge management for partners and staff.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, public administration, law, public health, nutrition, international relations, business administration or related fields.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible professional experience at national and international levels in programme or project development.
• Demonstrated experience in humanitarian access, negotiation and community engagement.
• Ability to work in insecure, logistically constrained environments with cultural sensitivity.
