ESS Delivery Engineer

About the role

The ESS Delivery Engineer will lead commissioning, testing and acceptance of large‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, ensuring safe and on‑time delivery at customer sites worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Commission, troubleshoot and resolve defects for battery containers, fire suppression, liquid cooling, DC and AC circuits, and BMS communication systems.
• Assist with Power Conversion System (PCS) and Energy Management System (EMS) commissioning and perform site acceptance testing, grid‑connection testing and project acceptance activities.
• Support on‑site issue analysis, fault diagnosis, corrective actions and closure together with the project team.
• Track commissioning issues to closure, collaborate with R&D, Quality, After‑Sales Service and Project Management, and ensure compliance with EHS requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy Technology or related fields.
• More than 5 years of experience in electrical equipment commissioning, energy projects or related industries.
• Fluent English for daily work and on‑site communication; Mandarin Chinese proficiency required.
• Willingness to travel extensively and undertake long‑term overseas assignments.

Required skills

• Knowledge of primary and secondary electrical systems, BESS, photovoltaic (PV) and power systems.
• Understanding of BMS, PCS and EMS principles.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols such as CAN and Modbus RTU/TCP, and fieldbus technologies.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and communication topology drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office software.
