Field Coordinator

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Field Coordinator to lead its operations in a provincial office in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Reporting to the Deputy Country Director, the coordinator will ensure that all IRC programs and activities are delivered effectively and represented accurately both internally and externally.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the lead representative of IRC in the province, overseeing all operational functions.
• Manage human resources, administration, supply chain, finance, IT, and security teams at the provincial level.
• Supervise and support the implementation of IRC programmes, working closely with senior program coordinators and technical leads.
• Promote cross‑sector integration and contribute field‑level input to the organization’s strategic plans.
• Oversee staff safety and security protocols, ensuring compliance with IRC standards.
• Coordinate operational support for program teams and ensure effective collaboration with sector coordinators.
• Monitor and review provincial security arrangements and take corrective actions as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior field coordination or operations management within humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent understanding of health, safety, and security standards in field environments.
• Ability to work closely with senior management and provide strategic input.
