FSL Assessment Officer – REACH Initiative (6‑month contract)

About the role

The REACH Initiative is seeking a Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) Assessment Officer to join its team in Goma, DRC. The officer will support multi‑sectoral humanitarian assessments, data collection, and analysis to inform emergency response, reconstruction and development planning.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct rapid and multi‑sectoral assessments in host‑community and camp settings.
• Collect, validate and manage field data for displaced populations.
• Produce GIS‑based maps and satellite‑imagery analyses to visualise humanitarian needs.
• Maintain and update databases and web‑mapping platforms.
• Support the design and implementation of the Rapid Response Mechanism toolbox.
• Coordinate with partners, clusters and OCHA to ensure timely information flow.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., Geography, Social Sciences, Humanitarian Studies).
• Experience conducting field assessments in humanitarian contexts.
• Familiarity with the DRC humanitarian environment and multi‑sectoral data.
• Ability to work in a fluid, fast‑paced setting and travel to field sites.
