Head of Programme – Lead Humanitarian Funding & Operations

About the role

Geneva Call is seeking a senior professional to lead its programme activities in a country context. The Head of Programme will ensure that all projects are financially sound, strategically funded, and effectively communicated, while maintaining the organisation’s neutral and impartial humanitarian stance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and adapt the country budget in line with available funds and operational needs.
• Oversee the set‑up and adjustment of HR structures according to funding levels, in partnership with the Operations Coordinator.
• Lead public communication efforts to raise awareness of Geneva Call’s work and strengthen its influence and access.
• Develop and maintain durable partnerships with local organisations, donors, diplomats and international bodies.
• Analyse donor strategies, identify multi‑year funding opportunities and prepare concept notes, proposals and costings.
• Manage grants, ensuring expenditures align with financial plans and donor requirements, and produce high‑quality narrative and budget reports.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in programme management, budgeting and grant administration within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Proven track record in fundraising, donor relationship management and partnership building.
• Strong understanding of International Humanitarian Law and humanitarian principles.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
