Head of Support Services

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking a French‑speaking Head of Support Services to lead its operational management in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Based in Goma, this senior position oversees finance, administration, human resources, logistics and procurement across the country office and field locations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Country Director and senior management in donor and authority liaison, ensuring compliance, registration and audit requirements are met.
• Provide strategic leadership and technical support to finance, administration, HR and logistics/procurement units, both at the country office and in the field.
• Supervise audits, control processes and implement corrective actions to uphold DRC operational standards.
• Develop and maintain a risk management plan, identifying major financial and operational risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Build capacity of support staff through training, mentoring and performance management.
• Contribute to global DRC initiatives, particularly in procurement and financial accountability.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in managing multi‑disciplinary support functions within an international humanitarian context.
• Proven ability to develop long‑term vision, strategic plans and lead large teams.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance, audit processes and risk management.
• Fluent in French and proficient in English.
