About the role
The Health, Nutrition and IPC Manager will lead the planning and delivery of all health, nutrition and infection prevention and control components of the Kinga Maisha and MAPLE projects responding to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role ensures activities meet national policies, WHO guidelines and Save the Children standards while staying within agreed timelines and budgets.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement project plans for Kinga Maisha and MAPLE, ensuring outputs are achieved on time, within budget and in compliance with donor and SCI policies.
- Coordinate health, nutrition and IPC interventions with other Save the Children project managers in Ituri to create synergy across health zones and centres.
- Provide technical oversight for Observation Care Centres, including clinical pathways, nutrition support and strict IPC measures.
- Lead forecasting, quantification, procurement planning and monitoring of medicines, medical commodities, nutrition products, IPC supplies and equipment.
- Supervise, mentor and evaluate the project team, fostering capacity building and performance improvement.
- Represent Save the Children in national and sub‑national coordination forums, contributing to technical planning and evidence‑based decision‑making.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing health, nutrition and IPC programmes in emergency or outbreak settings.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with ability to work closely with government ministries, WHO and donor partners.
- Demonstrated competence in budgeting, procurement and supply‑chain management for health commodities.
- Familiarity with WHO IPC guidelines, Save the Children standards and national health policies.
