Health Specialist – Fixed Term – Kananga, DRC

About the role

The Health Specialist will support the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of health programmes in Kananga, DRC, reporting to the Chief Field Office and the Chief of Health section.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development, planning and sector-specific health initiatives (e.g., gender, maternal, neonatal, child survival).
• Manage programme delivery, monitoring results and ensuring compliance with results‑based management approaches.
• Provide technical and operational guidance throughout the programme cycle.
• Build partnerships and networks with government, UN agencies, NGOs and donors.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health, nutrition, pediatric health, health policy, epidemiology or related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in public health planning, maternal and neonatal health, or health emergency preparedness.
• Fluency in French; knowledge of another UN language is a plus.
