In‑depth Auditor for Annual Project Audit in Kinshasa

About the role

Sign of Hope e.V. seeks an experienced auditor to conduct an in‑depth financial audit of the SEWOH‑Holistic Food Security project for the period 1 January 2023 – 31 December 2023. The assignment is a short‑term consultancy based in Kinshasa, DR Congo, and will support the organisation’s accountability to the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Key responsibilities

• Review all financial documents, receipts, vouchers and transaction records related to the project.
• Verify compliance with BMZ funding guidelines, German non‑profit regulations and international accounting standards.
• Prepare an independent audit opinion on the financial accounting of the project, covering all funds received and expended by Humana People to People Congo.
• Identify strengths, weaknesses and provide recommendations for improving financial and human‑resource management systems.
• Deliver a comprehensive audit report to Sign of Hope e.V. within the agreed timeframe.

Required profile

• Professional experience in auditing, preferably with development or non‑profit projects.
• Familiarity with BMZ funding requirements and international accounting standards.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Fluency in English and French.
