IT Officer – IT Infrastructure Management

About the role

VillageReach is seeking an IT Officer to manage, maintain, and improve its information technology infrastructure in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The incumbent will provide technical support, ensure system security, and keep IT services reliable for national and provincial offices, including remote sites.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑ and second‑level support for hardware, software, networks, and collaboration tools.
• Diagnose and resolve incidents, install and maintain computers, printers, and peripherals.
• Design, install, administer, and optimise LAN, wireless networks, and internet connections.
• Monitor system performance, ensure service continuity, and collaborate on infrastructure upgrades.
• Implement security measures, manage user accounts and permissions in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, and conduct access audits.
• Raise staff awareness of cybersecurity best practices.
• Perform regular data backups and support disaster‑recovery testing.
• Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement to disposal.

Required profile

• Experience delivering first‑ and second‑level IT support.
• Proficiency in network design, installation, and administration.
• Knowledge of information security practices and user access management.
• Ability to conduct data‑backup procedures and support business continuity plans.
• Experience managing IT asset inventories.
