Local National Nurse – Emergency & Primary Care

About the role

Iqarus is seeking a Local National Nurse to deliver primary healthcare and emergency medical support in remote or austere environments. The role involves 12‑hour continuous shifts, with on‑call duties to manage medical emergencies 24/7 and prepare patients for MEDEVAC.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain confidential patient medical records and ensure accurate documentation.
• Procure, distribute, and manage medical equipment, medications, and consumables.
• Assess and monitor critically ill or injured patients, collect histories, and communicate findings to physicians.
• Provide evidence‑based primary healthcare, stabilize patients, and support medical evacuations.
• Offer health risk advice and mental health first aid to UNHCR staff.
• Coordinate health promotion, education activities, and assigned health programs.

Required profile

• Internationally recognised paramedic or general nursing qualification.
• Current valid registration/licence to practice in the country of origin.
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience.
• ACLS certification or equivalent.
• Experience working in remote, austere, or field environments.
