Nutrition Officer (Temporary, 6 months)

About the role

UNICEF is recruiting a Nutrition Officer for a six‑month temporary appointment in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. The role supports an integrated humanitarian response to the Ebola outbreak, focusing on improving nutrition service coverage, strengthening health‑nutrition systems, and promoting Infant and Young Child Feeding practices.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor nutrition programmes in line with UNICEF and government strategies.
• Conduct monitoring, evaluation and data management for nutrition activities.
• Provide coordination and technical support to partners and stakeholders.
• Lead capacity‑building initiatives and advocacy on nutrition and IYCF.
• Manage partner compliance, supply and logistics related to nutrition interventions.
• Facilitate partnerships and community engagement to ensure effective service delivery.

Required profile

• University degree in nutrition, public health or a related field.
• Experience in humanitarian or emergency nutrition programmes.
• Knowledge of nutrition assessment, IYCF and multisectoral coordination.
• Ability to work in insecure, resource‑constrained environments.
• Fluency in English; French language skills are an asset.
