Project Manager – Better Mining Projects

About the role

The Project Manager will lead end‑to‑end delivery of client projects within SLR Better Mining, ensuring ethical and responsible mineral supply chains across Africa. You will manage budgets, resources and analytics to provide high‑quality outputs that meet international standards such as the OECD Due Diligence Guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Own full project lifecycle from inception to completion, delivering on time, within scope and budget.
• Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, forecasts, cost controls and financial trackers; monitor spend, burn rates and flag risks.
• Plan and coordinate project resourcing, allocating analysts and collaborating with in‑country teams.
• Use project management tools (e.g., Asana) to structure workplans, manage dependencies and track progress.
• Lead structured analysis of field monitoring data, risk metrics and performance indicators, turning complex datasets into clear insights and recommendations.
• Produce client‑ready presentations and reports that align with responsible sourcing standards.

Required profile

• Proven consulting or advisory experience managing complex workstreams, budgets and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong financial discipline and ability to anticipate and mitigate delivery risks.
• Excellent analytical mindset with experience translating data into actionable recommendations.
• Willingness to work from Kigali, Kolwezi, Johannesburg or Cape Town and travel as project needs dictate.
