Project Manager - Underground Mining

About the role

We are looking for a Project Manager to lead our underground mining capital projects at Kamoto Copper Company in Kolwezi, DRC. Reporting to the General Manager – Capital Projects, you will drive project delivery that supports production performance and the company’s long‑term growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of underground mining capital projects, ensuring scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety and business objectives are met.
• Support mining operations by delivering projects that improve production and contribute to the business plan.
• Provide leadership, coaching and performance management to project engineers and technical teams.
• Ensure compliance with project governance, stage‑gate processes, company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and manage capital budgets, forecasts and long‑term investment plans.
• Monitor and control project risks, costs, schedules, quality and resource utilization.
• Prepare and present project performance reports, business cases and governance documentation to senior management.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with operational teams, contractors, suppliers, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement of project management systems and processes across the portfolio.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Affiliation with a recognized engineering or project management professional body (e.g., Professional Engineer).
• Proven experience managing large‑scale capital projects in the mining sector.
• Strong understanding of project governance, budgeting, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
