Project Officer – Mental Health & Psychosocial Support

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Officer to support its Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programme in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The incumbent will work within a multidisciplinary team to design, implement and monitor interventions that address the complex humanitarian needs of displaced populations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, coordination and delivery of MHPSS activities across conflict‑affected provinces.
• Support the development of project proposals, work plans, budgets and reporting tools.
• Monitor programme performance, collect and analyse data, and contribute to regular progress reports.
• Facilitate capacity‑building workshops for local partners and community volunteers.
• Ensure compliance with IOM policies, donor requirements and humanitarian standards.

Required profile

• University degree in public health, psychology, social work, international development or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in MHPSS or health programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multi‑cultural environments and under security constraints.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
