Project Officer – Mental Health & Psychosocial Support

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Officer to support Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role will contribute to the design, implementation and monitoring of interventions aimed at addressing the growing burden of mental, neurological and substance‑use conditions among displaced and conflict‑affected populations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating and delivering MHPSS projects in line with IOM’s strategic objectives and donor requirements.
• Support the collection, analysis and reporting of project data, including monitoring and evaluation indicators.
• Facilitate collaboration with government, UN agencies, NGOs and community partners to ensure integrated service delivery.
• Prepare technical documents, progress reports and briefing notes for senior management and donors.
• Contribute to capacity‑building activities for local staff and partners on MHPSS best practices.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in public health, psychology, social work, humanitarian affairs or a related field.
• Experience working in humanitarian or development settings, preferably in conflict‑affected areas.
• Demonstrated understanding of mental health and psychosocial support concepts and interventions.
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills in English.
