Project Support Manager

About the role

The Project Support Manager ensures the efficient operation of Medair’s field base in Goma, overseeing administration, finance, human resources, logistics and security. Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the role also represents Medair in meetings with contractors, authorities and NGOs when required.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise base operations, including staff management, maintenance, and liaison with landlords, contractors and suppliers.
• Oversee all financial activities, ensuring cash management, timely reporting, internal controls and compliance with donor guidelines.
• Manage the base budget, monitor expenditures and support quarterly pipeline analyses.
• Coordinate human‑resource functions such as recruitment, induction, training, appraisals and disciplinary actions while ensuring legal compliance.
• Provide logistical support, managing supply chain, vehicles, assets, IT and communication equipment, and ensure proper procurement, storage and transport procedures.
• Maintain IT systems, including regular backups, virus updates and troubleshooting.
• Attend external coordination and security meetings in the absence of the Project Coordinator and relay relevant information to staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing multi‑disciplinary support functions in a humanitarian or field‑based environment.
• Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead diverse teams.
• Excellent understanding of financial controls, donor compliance and budgeting processes.
• Knowledge of HR regulations and best practices.
• Ability to coordinate logistics and maintain operational readiness.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
