Project Support Manager

About the role

The Project Support Manager ensures the smooth operation of Medair’s field base in Goma, D.R. Congo. Reporting to the Project Coordinator, this role oversees administration, finance, human resources, logistics and security functions, providing essential support to programme staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise base operations, including maintenance, landlord liaison and supplier management.
• Oversee all financial activities: cash management, weekly closings, monthly reports, reconciliations and compliance with internal controls and donor guidelines.
• Manage the base budget, monitor expenditures and ensure timely, donor‑compliant spending.
• Coordinate human‑resource processes such as recruitment, induction, training, appraisals and disciplinary actions while ensuring legal compliance.
• Provide logistical support, managing supply chain, vehicles, assets, IT equipment and logistics staff training.
• Maintain IT procedures, including backups, virus updates and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate on budget preparation for support and shared costs, track expenditures and support quarterly pipeline analyses.
• Represent Medair in external coordination and security meetings when the Project Coordinator is absent.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing multi‑disciplinary support functions in a humanitarian or development context.
• Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead diverse teams.
• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities, capable of handling budgets and reporting under tight deadlines.
• Good understanding of donor compliance, financial controls and local employment regulations.
