Projects Officer – Food Security & Livelihoods

About the role

The Projects Officer, Food Security and Livelihoods will support the implementation of a five‑month cash‑based food assistance project in Kazumba Territory, DRC. Reporting to the Food Security and Livelihoods Program Supervisor, the officer will coordinate cash transfers, agricultural production, and livelihood activities to improve community food security and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day implementation of food assistance, cash transfers, and agricultural activities according to approved work plans and quality standards.
• Identify and mobilise project participants, working closely with community structures, advisory committees and lead farmers.
• Coordinate cash distribution logistics and ensure transparent, accountable processes.
• Deliver training and capacity‑building sessions for local staff, advisory committees, lead farmers and community members, including training‑of‑trainers.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, monitoring data and reports for internal and donor requirements.
• Collaborate with contracted service providers, local authorities and Food Security Cluster partners.
• Travel regularly to villages in Mboie and Mutefu sectors to monitor activities and engage beneficiaries.

Required profile

• Experience in humanitarian or development projects focused on food security, cash‑based assistance or livelihoods.
• Knowledge of agricultural production practices and community‑based programming.
• Ability to work in remote field settings and travel frequently within the project area.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with diverse stakeholders.
