Public Health Emergency Specialist (P-3) – 6‑month TA in DRC

About the role

UNICEF is seeking three Public Health Emergency Specialists (P‑3) on a six‑month temporary assignment to support the Ebola outbreak response in the Ituri, North Kivu and South Kivu provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role focuses on coordinating technical and operational aspects of public‑health interventions to protect children and vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide operational support for UNICEF‑backed public‑health activities within the Ebola response.
• Deliver technical assistance for epidemiological surveillance and data management.
• Monitor community‑level interventions, risk communication and community engagement (RCCE), and infection prevention and control (IPC)/WASH activities.
• Manage logistics, including tracking and distribution of supplies.
• Document and report lessons learned, ensuring knowledge management and capitalization.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Public Health, Epidemiology, International Health, Health Emergency Management, Medicine or a related field.
• Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in public‑health emergency management, epidemiological surveillance, outbreak response or related areas.
• Proven ability to work in complex, insecure environments and to engage with diverse communities.
